MISSION
The mission of nurse aide programs is to provide comprehensive education and training to prepare individuals to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to patients in various healthcare settings.
VISION
The vision of nurse aide programs is to foster a healthcare environment where well-trained and compassionate nurse aides play a crucial role in enhancing patient care and health outcomes.
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course trains nurse aides, also known as nursing assistants, to provide essential medical assistance in hospitals, nursing homes, and mental health facilities. Nurse aides deliver direct patient care, support healthcare professionals, and help patients with daily activities like eating, dressing, and bathing, while monitoring vital signs.
In nursing homes, they often serve as primary caregivers, building strong relationships with patients. Home health aides also provide care in residential settings for individuals facing mental or emotional challenges.
The curriculum follows Texas Health and Human Services guidelines, requiring 100 hours of training: 60 hours of classroom instruction over three weeks, and 14 days of practical experience in a long-term care facility. Upon completion, students can schedule the state examination through Prometric’s system.
